Sarah Macrorie, CPM, LDM
Sarah is a Certified Professional Midwife licensed by the State or Oregon. She maintains a current certification in Adult and Neonatal Resucitation/CPR and First Aid, and is certified by the Oregon Academy of Family Physicians in Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO). Sarah has extensive clinical experience in Women’s Reproductive healthcare, with over 10 years as a clinical and surgical assistant. Special areas of interest include lactation and well woman care. She is proud to have served on the board of the Midwifery Access Project, and is the former Advocacy Council Representative for the Oregon Midwifery Council, the professional organization for homebirth midwives in Oregon.

Philosophy of Care
Beautiful births can, and do happen in a variety of settings. However, the institutional barriers to physiologic birth make a truly supported and natural labor , birth, and postpartum experience difficult to obtain in the hospital setting. It is my belief that when a healthy birthing mother is seen as an individual and expectant management is used, the results in terms of safety and satisfaction are far superior to an actively managed birth. I practice according to the guidelines set forth by the State of Oregon in order to ensure safe and conscientious care, while maintaing autonomy for the birthing family.
